Alari
The two floating Islands that make up Alari were originally just a collection of rundown ships that could no longer sail lashed together. What were to become the Alari people lived on a small chain of islands (now underwater), and spent most of their lives fishing. When boats that had run afoul of the weather drifted to their islands, they would bind them on tethers to the islands to create more usable space. This eventually led to the construction of a series of floating platforms larger than the islands themselves. The Alaris eventually moved completely to the platforms and cut loose from the islands to drift along the currents. This allowed them to gain access to larger schools of fish for a longer portion of the year. When they began to trade with the other countries of Ara Alnair, and the Alari Royalty became wealthier, they constructed another, smaller floating island in the western seas for the royal family to live on.
GOVERNMENT: Monarchy, with succession through heirs.

Shira
Though one country, Shira is made up of two groups of people who run independent of each other while sharing the same land. The nocturnal Lashira tend to stay in the more northern regions, while the diurnal Dashira generally make their homes in the south. The two races get along very well, and there is hardly ever conflict between the two. They have separate governments but have had no laws so far that conflict with each other. Shira’s history goes back further than its peoples’ memory, and there is no record that exists stating who first settled the wild forests.
LASHIRAN GOVERNMENT: An elected Chief governs all the Lashirans.
DASHIRAN GOVERNMENT: Monarchy, with succession through heirs.

Pakic
Pakic is one of the most archaic of civilizations. Because vast ice plains have been a part of Ara Alnair for millions of years, the brave inhabits have challenged the climate for thousands of years. Nomadic people roam among the plains, discovering that to live in the unforgiving weather they must beat the climate and end their nomadic ways. Constructing massive igloo-like buildings capable of resisting blizzards and the cold, they were able to settle down into civilization. Their main source of food has always been seafood and by drilling holes deep enough in the ice, they can easily access what lies below their feet. In conjunction to this, the herds of animals that have lived on the ice forever as well have supplied the people with what they need. However, every growing civilizations has their controversies and many groups did not agree with the leaving of their ancient nomadic lifestyle. Some people decided to reside outside of the civilization and live among the ice on their own, normally leaving for the mountains when the yearly blizzards make way. The "outlaws" continue to practice the art of igloo making as they make their move across the country, while those in civilizations soon forget of those old ways and make their own among the sturdy walls of their ice buildings.
Government: Ruled by an elected monarch.

Zaheran
One of the older, more established nations, Zaherran people live in well established cities that rise through the deserts and golden grasslands like an oasis. For a long time, Zaherran was divided into many countries that worked together in a sort of federation. Each few cities had their own rulers who were part of a circle of twelve that made up the complete ruling power of Zaherran. The co-operation between leaders and countries has made Zaherran a prosperous country despite being in one of the drier regions however, the ruling of a twelve tined monarchy was weak. Warlord Aldebaran has snatched his opportunity by taking over the governing city of Alcos on a day when nine of the twelve monarchs were meeting. With his control over the city and most of his governing body, he has become warlord over Zaherran.
GOVERNMENT: Monarchy passed down to an Heir

Corra
The mountain nation of Corra is the youngest of the five countries, and has worked hard throughout its history to prove itself as a viable power. Corra has a formidable army, with troops who can easily fight in land or in air. They have a decent navy based in the sheltered circle of ocean between the mainland and the island off their eastern shore. Corra is a nation easily offended, and has been the first to enter a war on many occasions. Along with their military prowess, Corra is well known for its scholars, and has begun development in many revolutionary inventions that have the potential to change everyday life.
GOVERNMENT: Ruled by an Elected Monarch
